A Note from the artist:
I began
with the idea of the flames burning in front of a pyromaniac and thought about
the beauty he probably sees in them, maybe as flame dancers, and that is how
the fire started.
The main
problem with it was how to make each court different if they were suppose to
be all in flames, all the same color, etc... So i tried to give each one of
them a particular air.
-The club
court has vegetal details, the color is a little orange-softer, i tried to
make them kinder than the rest.
-The
diamond court has little details of jewellery, and more yellow than the others.
The queen has a rich organized brench, pearls and a certain desdain, the king
is crowning himself, and the jack exhibits himself proudly.
-The heart
court is the most simple of the courts because i wanted it to be a little dark
and pure as desire.
-The spade
court is easier to explain, all of them hold spades, knifes or a spear of fire,
the cards have more red to remember the blood or the anger and all of them have
an agresive attitude.
The jokers
are the magician in the tuck case, is the Pyromaniac who was finally burnt by
the flames and has become a flame skeleton devil, who plays with the burning
cards coming out from his top hat.
And then
all those spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds remain inside of the top hat, with
the fabric liner holding them until they come out to play their magic.
