A Bathing Ape is a Japanese fashion brand founded by Nigo in Ura-Harajuku in 1993.

The brand specializes in men\'s, women\'s and children\'s lifestyle and street wear, running 19 stores in Japan, including Bape Stores, Bape Pirate Stores, Bape Kids Stores, Bapexclusive Aoyama, and Bapexclusive Kyoto.

In 2004, BAPE debuted the Shark Hoodie, a full-zip hooded sweatshirt featuring a colorful design on the hood inspired by military fighter planes. Since then, the Japanese brand has introduced a number of signature motifs to the iconic style, from the 1ST CAMO pattern to chenille “World Gone Mad” patches.
